Gail Pearson & Christopher Williams have a packed musical programme celebrating Morfydd's vocal pieces in Welsh, English and French as well as her piano works.
Gail Pearson made her professional debut as Gilda, Rigoletto for Welsh National Opera at the age of twenty-three. For the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden she has sung numerous roles including Papagena, Die Zauberflote and Jano, Jenufa. She has been a regular principal at English National Opera singing a wide range of roles in operas from Purcell to David Sawer and has sung with all the main opera companies in the UK. In Europe Gail has sung at the opera houses in Paris, Lyons, Nantes, Nancy, and Rennes. Her concert work is extensive and includes performances with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Saltzburg Festival, The Philharmonia, BBCNOW, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the City of London Sinfonia, with conductors Sir Charles Mackerras, Wolfgang Sawallisch and Richard Hickox. Her recordings include Iris, Semele (Curnyn), Echo, Ariadne on Naxos (Sir Richard Armstrong) and Jano, Jenufa (Sir Bernard Haitink)
Born in Wales, Christopher Williams is a music graduate of Cardiff University and now leads a busy and varied professional life as a pianist, composer, conductor, teacher and arranger. He is currently a staff pianist at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, piano teacher at Cardiff University, and pianist for both the BBC National Chorus of Wales and BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
